List of Known Issues with the Lede Platform

Overview

The Lede platform is currently under regular development. Below are the known issues and limitations of the platform as of the Modified Date on this article. If you encounter an issue not on the list, including any issues with individual subscribers, please submit a ticket via Freshdesk.

Supported Browsers

The Lede platform supports the latest major version of all mainstream browsers, which account for over 90% of all browser usage. Some display issues reported by users can be resolved by ensuring their browser is up to date. At minimum, the following versions are supported:

  • Chrome 105+
  • Edge 105+
  • Firefox 110+
  • Safari 16+

Ad Campaigns

  • If you have multiple Post Rivers on the Homepage and are using the “River Card” target, the same Ad Campaign will display in each Post River.

Articles

  • In-article videos do not play on Safari/iOS (mobile only).
  • The “Vimeo” embed block adds extra whitespace to the top and bottom of Vimeo videos.
    • To remove the whitespace, click on the Vimeo block settings > Advanced > Additional CSS Class(es) and replace “wp-embed-aspect-9-16” with “wp-embed-aspect-16-9“. Leave “wp-has-aspect-ratio” as is in that field.

  • WordPress Admin:
    • The following Post option does not function in the current version of Lede.

  • Bylines do not display properly in Firefox’s Reader View

Coral Commenting

  • Avatars can not be deleted via the UI on the My Account page, only modified.
  • When posting comments from an Android phone, line breaks in comments are sometimes removed.
  • It is possible to link to comments that are associated with other articles on your site by appending the comment ID hash (?commentID=) to the URL of any story on your site. This is a display only issue.

General UI/UX

  • Bookmark favicon does not always display as expected in Firefox.
  • The functionality to return a user to the page they were on before logging in does not consistently work on the Brave browser.

Gutenberg Blocks

  • Blocks nested more than four levels will not render.
  • In limited use cases, customers are not prevented from purchasing duplicate subscriptions.
  • Users cannot delete their account via their My Account page. If you have a user who wants their account deleted, please contact the Lede team to have their account removed. Please keep in mind that if the user was previously a paying subscriber, information related to their payments and transactions will not be deleted.
