Lede Platform Update: June 2023

Our June update focuses on Intro Pricing & GDPR Compliance. We’ve also added the Gallery block for Posts and adjusted the Newsletter block so it can flexibly fit in various column sizes on your Homepage. SPOTLIGHT: Intro Pricing!

  • A new iteration of promotional pricing is available: Intro Pricing! It is now possible to set up a promotion which transitions a customer from a monthly to annual product (i.e. Customer pays an intro price for their first month and is then converted to the corresponding annual plan).
  • The guidance for how to set up promotional pricing has been updated accordingly. As before, please submit a Freshdesk ticket with your request at least 24 hours in advance of the go live time of the promotion so we have the opportunity to confirm all information and to set it up for your site.
    • Note: We plan to make this a completely self-serve process in the future, but Stripe’s coupon setup is quite unforgiving and we want to ensure your promotion is set up exactly as you intend!

Enhanced GDPR Compliance

  • A cookie consent modal will now be presented to your users visiting from locations governed by GDPR/CCPA. (Users in the U.S. will not see this modal, unless they are located in California.) Users can “Accept all” or “Reject all” cookies and registered users can adjust these settings more granularly on their My Account page.

  • The modal links out to your Privacy Policy, so please take some time to ensure this is up to date on your site.
  • If you have a menu set to the “Nav Bar” display location, that menu will now display on mobile.

Newsletter Block

  • The Newsletter block can be placed within columns and will be sized based on the width of the column. Try this out on your Homepage if you are using a column layout!

Bylines/Profiles for Authors

  • The “Short Bio” is now a rich text field which allows links. This author content displays at the end of posts. (WP Admin > Profiles)

Bug Fixes

  • Known Issues – Lede v2 is currently under regular development. This is a list of known issues and limitations of the platform as of 6/28/23. If you encounter an issue not on the list, including any issues with individual subscribers, please contact us via Freshdesk.
  • Reduced space around Featured Post image on mobile.
  • Headings added to the Post River and Featured Topics blocks are no longer removed when editing the Homepage.
