Lede Platform Updates: End of March 2024

Our end of March update focuses on a number of user experience improvements, most notably a new ability to add a social sharing call to action to encourage your users to share your content. Check out the full update below and reach out to us via Freshdesk if you have any questions or feedback. UX/General Improvements

  • Sharing CTAYou can now add text, encouraging users to share your content, next to the social sharing icons that display after articles.
  • Button standardization:
    • Buttons across the site have been standardized in shape & size in all locations.
    • In addition, key buttons in Payment flows have been changed to a blue color that is often associated with payment forms, instead of your primary brand color.

  • The Comment of the Day block & the Featured Post block can now be placed into columns and will resize based on the space available.

  • Lede Lite (text-only views)
    • Now available on the Featured Topics block – both the horizontal & vertical layouts.
    • Also available on single article post rivers and archive pages across your site.

  • RSS feeds respect the number of blocks set in the “Blocks to Preview” setting for the registration wall.
  • Footer logo size has been increased.

Bug Fixes

  • Known Issues – Lede v2 is currently under regular development. This is a list of known issues and limitations of the platform, as of 2/13/24. If you encounter an issue not on the list, including any issues with individual subscribers, please contact us via Freshdesk.
  • Value Proposition on Login Page:
    • Links no longer blend into background color on mouseover.
    • Value proposition text has been removed from subsequent login pages after initial form is submitted.

  • Google Ad Manager (GAM) Related:
    • Whitespace under global header has been reduced when GAM is setup, but no GAM ad is present.
    • Spacing has been added between GAM banner ads and the Ad Campaign/Sponsorship header location.

  • Text bylines (those which do not have an associated Profile) now display similarly to other bylines on the site for consistency. An avatar with the first initial of the text byline will be included in various locations. These text bylines are also no longer included at the end of articles.
