Lede Platform Update: Differentiated Products, Styling Cleanup, and More

Over the last few weeks, we’ve done some styling/UI cleanup and have added a few new options in v2. Read all about it here and let us know if you have any questions!

Differentiated Products

  • Do you have product offerings besides your monthly & annual standard subscription options (a podcast or other offering, perhaps)? We now support products with separate descriptions & pricing points from your standard subscription options. If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll provide info on how to set this up!

Global Header Options

  • Your global header now has some customization options – you can change the color, add a decoration (more options to come soon!), or adjust your pop-out menu to be two columns.
  • To see the available options:
    • Navigate to the WordPress Admin Dashboard.
    • Hover over “Lede” in the left sidebar.
    • Click “Brand Appearance”.
    • Navigate to the “Global Header Styles” heading.
  • Navigate to the WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  • Hover over “Lede” in the left sidebar.
  • Click “Brand Appearance”.
  • Navigate to the “Global Header Styles” heading.
  • Site Info will now display in the footer underneath your logo, if entered.
  • To add Site Info:
    • Navigate to the WordPress Admin Dashboard.
    • Hover over “Appearance” in the left sidebar.
    • Click “Customize”.
    • Click “Site Identity”.
    • Enter your Site Info into the “About” field. A length of one sentence is recommended.
  • Navigate to the WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  • Hover over “Appearance” in the left sidebar.
  • Click “Customize”.
  • Click “Site Identity”.
  • Enter your Site Info into the “About” field. A length of one sentence is recommended.

Styling Cleanup

  • Spacing in the sponsorships block in the Post River and Homepage/Article Banners has been tightened up.
  • The “Latest Posts” text in the Post River on the Homepage can be customized to your liking.
  • Spacing around column blocks can be adjusted to achieve the look you desire – column blocks can be used on the homepage or article pages.
  • Be sure to check out the various homepage customization options that are also available!
  • Top border on archive page titles (tags, categories, author, etc.) has been moved to under the Archive page title.
