Lede Platform Update: End of February 2023

Here are the late-February 2023 updates for the Lede platform:

New Brand Appearance Options (WordPress Admin: Lede > Brand Appearance)

Logo: Have an oversized logo? Add it to your header and it will display accordingly.
Header Decoration: A new “Border” option has been added which brings your primary brand color into the header instead of the default gray line.

Main Menu styles have been separated into their own sub-section on this page to accommodate the additional options now available.
Background Color: Change the background color of your main menu to make it stand out – choose from the default (black), white, or from your brand colors.
Text Color: Change the text color for your menu items – choose from the default (white), black, or from your brand colors.
Location: Your menu can now expand from either side of the page – leave the default behavior (left) or change it to expand from the right side of the page.
Format: As before, you can select the default (single column) or wide (two-column) display for your main menu.
Main Menu UX Improvement: After your main menu is expanded, there is now an “X” to close the menu on the menu itself, instead of only near the menu element.

Add your brand colors to border/divider lines across your site. Play around with the various options and see what works best for you.

Add some flair to buttons and input fields by selecting the “animated border” option. This includes the buttons & search input field in the main menu.

In addition to the border/divider line options mentioned above, you can also set the highlighted post background color for the top post on your archive (category & tags) pages.

The featured post block on the homepage now allows you to toggle the image location between the right and the left for this block. Have more than one very prominent post to feature? Consider adding another featured post block on the homepage (such as after the post grid) with alternating image locations to give your homepage a new look!

Payment related errors a user may encounter are now clearly surfaced when they are attempting to pay for a subscription so users know why their payment has failed. (This includes, but is not limited to, invalid credit card numbers, expired cards, and the card being declined.)

Resolved an issue where the cancellation button was not reliably working for users.
