Our end of April update is focused on a refresh of the “My Account” page for your registered and subscribed users. We’ve also updated the copy for annual renewal emails and added more knowledge base articles!
Feature Spotlight: My Account Page Refresh
- When a user updates any of the information on their My Account page, the alerts (both confirmations and errors) now display closer to the field being updated for increased clarity.
- Specific error messages are now surfaced if a user with commenting privileges attempts to use a username already in use or if they upload a file for their avatar larger than 1MB.
- Users are also now prevented from uploading unsupported file types for their avatars.
- Newsletter descriptions have been added to the “Your Newsletters” section of this page to provide users with more information about your newsletter offerings.

- The plan and payment method sections have been separated to better present a user’s available information and to build the foundation for future improvements to these sections.
- When a user has a payment method on file, their information displays on a faux card which now includes their card’s expiration date and the logo of the credit card network in addition to the last four digits of the card.
Annual Renewal Email Copy
- Subject and body copy for annual renewal email has been updated, with help from our friends at Defector. To see the new copy, visit Annual Subscription Renewal Emails.
General
- Informational alert messages (such as a form submitting) now display in blue instead of black to further distinguish these informational messages. Though we never rely on color alone to convey information, it can be a powerful way of reassuring users. The selected color meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards for color contrast against a white background.
