Beacon Updates
We’ve rolled out a suite of new features for our first-party analytics platform, Beacon. The homepage is now a dashboard that shows a number of metrics at a glance plus the most-visited stories from the previews day. Additionally, many reports in the “engagement” section can now be filtered and refined. You can now choose to segment charts and tables by user type (paid, registered, and unknown) and device type. New reports in this section include unique users, page views, and sessions. You can also choose to view reports by month, week, day, or hour, and you can choose whether to include or exclude bots and web crawlers — we exclude them from reports by default. Just click the “filter” panel on any report!
Next on the roadmap for Beacon are more enhancements to the home dashboard, a more “live” experience that shows how your audience is engaging with your site in real time, and more accurate revenue reporting and prediction. We are eager to hear how you would like to use Beacon in the future!
Post Grid Heading Customization
We are pleased to introduce enhanced flexibility for the Post Grid block through customizable heading sizes. Here’s how to adjust them:
- Access the block sidebar
- Select the Styles Panel
- Locate the Typography section
- Select from our range of heading sizes (XS to XXL)
The editor will automatically update your selected heading size. To restore the original configuration, either select “Default” or use the Reset All option in the Typography section’s menu (click the three vertical dots).
Bluesky Integration for Author Profiles
In response to Bluesky’s significant growth, we have implemented Bluesky handle integration for author profiles. To incorporate your Bluesky presence:
- Navigate to Profiles > All Profiles
- Select your profile
- Scroll to the Info section
- Locate the Bluesky field (positioned beneath Twitter)
- Enter your handle and select “Update”
⚠️ Important note: Do not include https://bsky.app/profile/ in the Bluesky field – that segment of the link will be generated programmatically.
Your Bluesky handle will immediately appear on your author page, helping you connect with readers across platforms.
New Featured Image Option
There is a new featured image variant available for articles, which brings the number of full-width featured image options to five. They are:
- Full width with text above image
- Full width with text on image (top)
- Full width with text on image (bottom) – NEW!
- Full width with text under image
- Vertical with text to left of image
